Process
The first step in any project is you – your wish list, guided by a set of questions I have developed over 25 years of working with homeowners and businesses. With your answers to these questions and follow-up conversations, we establish your needs and wishes and a preliminary budget.
From your wish list, I move into concept. Often skipped by design professionals, the concept phase ensures that our project stays on course, true to your needs and wishes, and avoids over-complication. The concept phase helps inform and guide our decisions as questions arise during our work together.
From concept, we move into preliminary design – and from there, we work together to make sure that the final design meets or exceeds your criteria, while staying within your budget. In some cases, criteria and budget change during the process – we work together to make sure that any changes happen before construction, not during – when changes can cause unnecessary delays or expenses.
